Cherbourg is incredibly tourist-friendly and offers many lovely guesthouses for holidaymakers. The town is a good base for exploring the Cherbourg peninsula, with its seaside resorts and the beaches of Normandy.
Hotels in the area include: Citotel Hôtel Beauséjour, a small and cosy hotel located in the heart of the city, just a short walk away from the Place Napoléon.
The Hôtel Restaurant Du Chateau de Quinevillea is a former castle which has kept its historic and exquisite charms of the past. The hotel's gardens are very inviting and the restaurant boasts traditional Normandy food cooked with local products. The Inter Hotel Du Lourve is situated in the heart of the city and offers a golf course, excellent facilities and stunning gardens.
As a main landing point for ferries from the UK, Cherbourg has a reasonable selection of overnight accomodation, that is good enough for a transit but wouldn't pass as luxury holiday facilities. A few number of decent hotels do exist however.
